Randi’s Bio
Randi’s innate tendency to view the world through an aesthetic perspective and curiosity, lead her rather naturally in her youth to enroll in art classes at the ToledoMuseum of Art, spurring her lifelong affinity for the immense world of art.
As a young adult, she studied fine arts at the University of North Carolina, focused primarily on the study of oil painting and mixing of color. There, she fell in love with this medium from the very feel of the oil paint to the possibilities of expression through painting.
Randi’s career path ultimately diverged from art into nursing and management, graduating from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She later completed her MBA while working as an executive in the healthcare industry and raising her two children.
In recent years, Randi has returned to her creative side of expression through art, finding inspiration in nature and quiet spaces. Her art pursuits have included working with mediums of paint, printmaking and pastels. Randi has participated in juried exhibitions and has received many awards for her work. She is a member of the Athena Art Society, as well as the Toledo Artist Club.
“My deep appreciation for the beauty of nature has inspired me to explore a variety of subjects including landscapes, wildlife, and natures beautiful shapes and forms. Although I present my subjects realistically, I strive to express emotion in my work by exploring use of color, symbolism, and seasonal or atmospheric influences. My intention is to create a mood, thus inviting the viewer to share in the experience. My goal is to continue to experiment, explore, and evolve as a artist and I am enjoying this wonderful journey.”
