Carol’s Bio
Carol Connolly Pletz is a lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio. Her acrylic paintings of local and Lake Erie scenes reflect her love of this area. She finds inspiration and beauty all around her. She honors her Irish heritage in her Irish paintings and calligraphy. Carol’s Amish paintings show her appreciation of that area and its people.
Carol received her B. A. degree from the University of Toledo. Then she worked as a graphic artist for Channel 11 and Toledo Edison Co. Free-lance artwork, painting and volunteer work occupied her child rearing years. In 1990 she began Erie Isles Art to sell her paintings and the note cards she makes from them. Carol has exhibited in many juried shows and has received many awards for her paintings. She has exhibited in the University of Toledo’s Art on the Mall show since it began in 1992. She also appears in many invitational shows including Spectrum, Toledo Artists Club and Athena Arts Society. Carol is a member and past president of Athena Art Society and Spectrum Gallery. She is also a member of the Toledo Artist’s Club, the Toledo Museum of Art President’s Council and the TMA Ambassadors.
Carol greatly appreciates the public interest and support of her work. Her work is in many private collections. She is thankful to be blessed with the opportunity to connect with people and to share lovely images and impressions through her art. Her paintings and/or note cards are sold at Toledo’s finest galleries and shops & at Shipshewana, Indiana and Kelleys Island and Put-In-Bay shops.
