Ann’s Bio
Ann Filipiak earned her degree from Saint Mary’s College, focusing on Art History and Marketing, and spent a formative year in Rome, Italy, studying painting and art history.
From 1985 to 1990, Ann apprenticed under renowned artist Daniel E. Greene (NA, PSA), further refining her technique through studies at the Art Students League of New York with Burt Silverman (NA). Today, she maintains a studio in Sylvania, Ohio, where she also teaches portraiture at the Toledo Museum of Art and serves as a museum docent.
Ann’s work has been exhibited, at the Pastel Society of America, Allied Artists of America, Richmond Art Museum, Butler Institute of American Art, Toledo Museum of Art, Midwest Pastel Society, Knickerbocker Artists Exhibition, Hudson Valley Art Association, Crosby Festival of the Arts, and the Toledo Artists Club.
Her commissioned portraits are part of permanent collections at institutions such as the Ohio State University Colleges of Law and Optometry, Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Francis de Sales High School, National Exchange Group, and Brooks Insurance Agency.
She is an active member at the Portrait Society of America, Pastel Society of America, Allied Artists of America, and the Athena Art Society.
