Ellie’s Bio
My interest in art started when old enough to hold a pencil, and has continued through four years of Saturday classes at The Toledo Museum of Art, two years of college at the University of Toledo and various media classes, also at Toledo Museum of Art. For seven years my concentration was on pottery at the museum. I exhibited two years in “Crosby Festival of the Arts” at the Toledo Botanical Gardens and the Sylvania Art Show selling pottery. Conditions prevented me from doing much in the art field until I retired. Since then, I have concentrated on watercolor and pastel, winning various awards in both fields. Taking advantage of lessons, not only at Springmaid in S.C., Stonington, Maine and Walnut Creek, Ohio, but also The Toledo Artists Club. with various nationally known artists, has improved my ability. I am a member of The Toledo Artists Club, The Toledo Women’s Art League, Athena Art Society and Hyter Portrait Group. I served as president of The Toledo Women’s Art League,{2006-2007} and President of The Toledo Artists Club {2006 – 2008}
