Sue’s Bio

Sue is a long time resident of the Woodville, Ohio area, having moved there with her family in 1980. Creating art has always been a daily part of her life, and pragmatism lead to a career of teaching art helping others discover their muse. Marriage to Jim, children Erin and Matt came along, and the active artist was put on hold.

After thirty years of teaching art in the Toledo Public School system, children grown and out of the nest, Sue retired from being “coach” and has entered the game full time as an active player. While having taught a variety of media and techniques over the years, working in her studio at home between Elmore and Woodville, Sue concentrates on abstract painting using acrylic inks and water soluble colored pencil.

Sue's award winning work has been shown in a number of area shows and art fairs including Crosby Gardens, Art on the Mall, Black Swamp Arts Festival, and Perrysburg's Rally for the Arts. Most recently she had two paintings accepted in the 2008 Toledo Area Artists Show with one being awarded a third place. Work was also in Space 237 "Under Construction" show in 2008. Sue is represented in "Collector's Corner" in the Toledo Museum of Art, "Silver Lining Gallery" in Waterville, and "The American Gallery" in Sylvania.

Works seen here are representative of ongoing work, most are 26" x 34" framed ... some may not be available. Inquiries to the email address above are appreciated.
