2018 Spring Non-Juried Show
Athena women are pleased to be exhibiting this year’s Spring Non-Juried Show from April 2 until April 28 at the showroom gallery of American Frame Corporation in Maumee, Ohio. Some of the members’ art is represented above in the banner and thumbnails below. We are happy to return to this beautiful venue.
American Frame is a premier supplier of custom picture frames, mat boards, do-it-yourself (DIY) framing supplies, fine art printing services, and free online art gallery. This family business was started in 1973 by Ron Mickel, with a hardware store that included a framing service. He evolved this into a mail order business, using the Nielsen aluminum frame, which could be custom cut and marketed in pairs via magazine publications. American Frame continued the sale of wood frames too, and transformed what was an expensive professionals-only task to an easy, affordable DIY project for their customers.
The American Frame website, www.americanframe.com, has many features for novice framers and professionals. There are instructional videos to learn DIY framing fundamentals, inspirational interviews, podcasts, newsletter sign-up, and information on their fine art and photography printing service.
In a green effort, the company is eco-conscious and conservation-minded in their daily operations as well as supportive of community initiatives. They strive to maximize the three R’s — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. This starts with suppliers, mostly American, who value our environment and manufacture products in compliance with reforestation practices and other environmental standards. You can read about American Frame’s reuse and recycling efforts in production and their other green initiatives on their website. The company’s commitment to their customers is reflected in their slogan: Love your art. Frame it right.
