Athena’s 2015 Annual Juried Exhibit
Athena Art Society is having their 2015 Juried Exhibition at Paula Brown Gallery in downtown Toledo, Ohio. The show is up and will go until October 24. Above is the art of 20 members represented in the show. Congratulations to our award winners, who are shown at the beginning of our above slider. They are: Jennifer Giovannucci, Best of Show, oil on canvas; Kay Weprin, 1st place, oil pastel; Randi O’Reilly Lowry, 2nd place, oil; Susan Ritter, 3rd place, oil on panel; Sue Ann Ladd, Honorable Mention, oil on copperplate. Our juror was Debra Buchanan, a local artist who works in oils, watercolor and graphite. She teaches the oil and drawing classes at the Art Depot supply store in Toledo and recently won first place at the Zanesville Art Exhibit (OH).
The Paula Brown Gallery specializes in Contemporary Prints and Fine American Crafts, which includes an artisans’ collection of fine jewelry. It is located in downtown Toledo, Ohio, in an eye-catching building that also houses their gift shop and a pub. Their store has unique and eclectic gifts that they scour the world to find, in order to bring the best products for their customers. Many companies and artisans from 6 continents are represented in both the cutting edge and classically designed products. There is a kitchen department which includes craft foods. They strive to provide exceptional customer service to make the shopping experience special, including a website for online shopping and a Facebook page. The pub is a full-service bar with wine, beer and a selection of spirits. There are special events happening every week and parking is free behind the building.
